This article also includes dates on important events that happened during the 1950s-2000s in these nations. The author provides basic information for the reader to extend their knowledge on East and West Pakistan. The article also gives a elaborate summary and on the leaders of Pakistan. Although the articles provides detailed information on the alternating governments it fails to explain how these disputes affected the people. Maddy's Link on Afghanistan
This article focuses on two elements of culture which are language, and religion. This is factual information because it is from a database, that shares the context of these elements. The Encyclopedia Britannica provides specifics on different Afghan languages such as Western Dardic, Turkic, and Dravidian. Each language is different depending on the location in Afghanistan. In addition, each language is spoken by a variety of people depending on their origin. For example, Dravidian is very common in the south but is spoken by the Brahuis. This source also provides information on the religion of Afghanistan, which is primarily Muslim. Also, three-fourths of the population in Afghanistan are sunnite people. This article is helpful to my project because it provides some in depth information on Afghanistan. Not only that, but this source fails to elaborate in detail about how language and religion affect the people. However, this source was helpful to understand the different types of language Afghanistan posseses, in addition to the religion the people practice in their everyday life.

In this video, the main purpose is the ethnic unrest of Sri Lanka. As stated in this short clip, the ethnic divide was reinforced by language and religion. Also, after independence British leaders wanted Buddhism to be given a strong place in the country. Buddhist nationalism provided the elite politicians their connection with the population. However, in order to do so, these politicians had to discriminate against the Tamils. In this source, the conflict of deciding what language Sri Lanka would adapt was a major problem. The Prime Minister stated the country would speak Ceylonese due to the fact of 70% of the population was already suited to this. The main purpose of this video, is to educate the listeners on what was a part of the ethnic unrest, and what people thought about the situation themselves. As this was put together for a scholarly audience, the producer provided factual information on this topic, as well as showing opinion about each point made throughout this video.
